World Friendship Candlelight Ceremony

 

 

Leader: Let us light three candles to honor the founders of Girl scouts and Girl Guides all over the world.

1st Girl: The first candle represents the founder of guiding and scouting throughout the world, Lord Baden Powell.

2nd Girl: The second candle represents Lady Olave Baden-Powell, the World Chief Guide and founder of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

3rd Girl: The third candle represents Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouting in the United States.

Leader: Let us light ten candles of friendship and sisterhood. They are our pledge as Girl Scouts to be a friend to all the world, and a sister to Girl Scouts and Girl Guides everywhere.

4th Girl: I light this candle for our troop...

5th Girl: I light this candle for more than #____ girls and adults who make up Girl Scouts of _____ Council.

6th Girl: I light this candle for 3 million girls and adults who are the Girl Scouts of the United States.

7th Girl: I light this candle for our overseas friends.

8th Girl: I light this candle for members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

9th Girl: I light this candle for our World centers.

10th Girl: I light this candle for future generations of Girl Scouts throughout the world.

11th Girl: I light this candle for World Peace.

12th Girl: I light this candle for International Friendship.

13th Girl: I light this candle for Global Understanding and Tolerance.
