DIVERSITY KIT   You will need the following for each kit:   One each, button, lifesaver, toothpick, two inch piece of golden tread, a mint, eraser, rubber band, a Q-tip, a two inch piece of string, a small safety pin, a stick of gum, a balloon, and a small mirror (small piece of silver mylar or foil).   Put all into a small zip bag with a piece of paper with the following directions.   DIVERSITY KIT   BUTTON - To remind you to "button your lips" to keep from saying hurtful things about others   LIFESAVER -  To remind you that you can be a lifesaver to others by courageously standing up to negative statements that can destroy an individual's self-esteem   TOOTHPICK - To remind you to "pick out" the best qualities in everyone regardless of race, religion, gender, age, etc.   GOLDEN THREAD - To remind you that friendship/kindness is the golden thread that ties together the hearts of us all   MINT - To remind you that you're worth a "mint' to Girl Scouts by eliminating discrimination and harassment   ERASER - To remind you that mistakes are unavoidable and we need to erase our embarrassment by apologizing when mistakes are made   RUBBER BAND - To remind you to stretch your imagination and creativity in reaching out to every girl, everywhere, and to be flexible   A Q-TIP - For cleaning out your ears to listen to what others say   A PIECE OF STRING-  To help tie up loose ends   A PIN -  To help pinpoint the problems   A STICK OF GUM -  To give you "stick-to-it-iveness"   A BALLOON -  To remind you to take every opportunity to inflate someone's self-image   A MIRROR-  To remind you to look into the mirror to see what you are projecting.  What you project will be reflected back Go to Scouting Web Home Page
